CHARACTERIZATION, MONITORING AND ANALYSIS TECHNOLOGIES IN THE
ENVIRONMENTAL RENATURATION OF CONTAMINATED SITES
Almost every industrial, civil and agricultural activities have as side-effect the production of contaminated effluents, whose
infiltration in the soil or dispersion in the air are clear examples of environmental pollution. In R&D, Ecoserdiana Spa, along
with Abiotec Srl, has studied phytoremediation's effects of Pistacia lentiscus, Populus nigra and Nerium oleander, as essences
specialized in the stabilization of hazardous chemical substances in soils. The adopted method use in vitro techniques for plant
micropropagation, artificial substrates (End-of-Waste criteria), frequently enriched with microbial consortia, and an ongoing
monitoring that ensure effective control over the treated area. The method also provides data collection and monitoring
systems in the open field, using detectors equipped on UAV for the identification of the heights and the vegetative state of the
plants. Records can be implemented in specifically developed and dedicated APPs. The model allows the use of plant
essences and dedicated substrates for environmental renaturation. Stabilization of contaminants at the rhizospheric level is
preferred, avoiding translocation and thus preventing subsequent treatment or disposal operations.
